Chicago, IL —Xbiz.com- After only seven months as Playboy.com editor, Scott Smith was let go by the company Friday.

Published reports said that a Playboy spokesperson cited “creative differences” as the reason for Smith’s firing.

His responsibilities will be split by Sam Jemielity, the website’s executive editor, and Sarah Preston Gorenstein, its managing editor.

Both Jemielity and Gorenstein will now report to Playboy magazine and Playboy.com Editorial Director, Jimmy Jelinek.

Smith was the former web editor at Time Out Chicago and also did a stint at the Chicagoist. He was considered the perfect choice by Jelinek who voiced his approval of the 35-year-old Smith after he was promoted to editorial director last August.

A post on the Chicago Tribune website reported that an email sent by Smith read, “Playboy seems to be moving in a different direction with the website’s editorial content so they can better serve (dot com’s) subscription-based business model. It’s a challenging media environment for everyone, so I understand the need to make this change, even if it’s less than ideal for me personally.”

It was also reported that Scott Alexander, the print magazine’s New York-based Modern Living senior editor was also terminated. The position will be filled in the Chicago office.

East Cape Girardeau, MO – I have to admit, when I tell people how much I travel I get two responses, one being, “That must suck”, and the other, “That must be so cool.” Honestly, they’re both true. While I love traveling because I learn so much and meet new people, I don’t have a lot of control over where I travel. People are under the impression that I am in locations like Milan and Paris every week, when in reality the destinations are unrecognizable to most. Before I left for this gig, I saw my college roommate in New Orleans and she says, “So where are you going this time?” I said, “East Cape Girardeau, Illinois.” Now my friend is very well traveled herself, she was in the peace corps and her parents are each doctors who took her abroad with their mission work as she grew up. “Ah, the Midwest.” She blankly stared at me, “Never heard of it…..have fun”, she said forcing a reassuring smile. Everyday is an adventure as we headed on our pilgrimage this week to East Cape (Fear) Girardeau.

Tony is good at a lot of things, but he lacks in the area of remembering names and places. This is how some of our conversations go:

Tony: “I was talking to Derrick the other day and that girl we met, Rebecca?”

Me: “Stephanie.”

Tony: ”Right. So she works for that printing company Flyers R Us.”

Me: “Adco.”

Tony: “Yea, Adco. So Adco has a special on flyers that we should look at.”

Needless to say, East Cape Girardeau quickly became “Cape Fear” Gibraltar. We arrived and found out that the hotel had no fitness center, however there was a hospital across the street with a fitness center, which was more like an Olympic training facility. It was such a refreshing change from the monotonous treadmills and in-room leg weights. The guy who gave us our passes asked us what we were doing in town. After we told him he said, “Oh, one of The Pony’s managers plays on our dodgeball team. We’re having a match tomorrow.” We had to see this.  Unfortunately we found out we had a radio show at about the same time so we ended up only getting to see the dodgeball teams warm-up. I was the “Buzzer Girl”. Seeing them play brought back a youthful feeling of nostalgia, only this was serious with the strength of a grown man throwing the ball rather than a twelve-year-old and they were brutal. “Wanna play?”, they asked me and Tony. “Uh, no. I’m fine just pushing the buzzer”, I answered. I could just see me being pelted with balls flying at mach 4 and then showing up at the radio spot. I would look like that cat from Pippy LaPew who is all made up and then she falls in the water and comes out looking all ragged and haggard, coughing and weezing.

The radio show came up quick so we drove downtown (about ten blocks) to Real Rock 99.3 to visit with Kirby the dj who ended up being very cool and accommodating. Tony documented the whole thing with the camera and sure enough the conversation went to The Bad Girls Club. Kirby pointed at Tony, “You look so familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?” The hour flew by with other guest Hollywood and James. I don’t think I have ever had a radio spot go so smoothly and had so much fun at the same time.

Another thing about Tony is, he hates when his hair gets “too long” so we looked for a barber in town. In this one horse town, the first barber we found was just sitting in his chair talking to a guy when we walked in. “I’d like to get a haircut,” Tony said. “You need an appointment, son”, the barber who was doing absolutely nothing answered. Oh boy, here we go, I thought. “I need an appointment? Well, you would be the first that has ever told me that. I mean, I just need a clean up and I have to get an appointment. You know what, never mind”, and we walked out with Tony murmuring something about stupid appointments.  The next barber shop had a sign out front that looked like something you might see in the background of a 1960’s photo with Dr. King marching with a group of people. We hesitated, then went in. The seats were full. “I’ll get to you, sir. I’d estimate that it will be about forty minutes. Why don’t you and your lady friend have a seat.” We were in 1960. I went to pick out a magazine. “I don’t recon we have any ‘girlie’ magazines, ‘cept for that Sports Illustrated there.” The step back in time was astounding. “So what are you and your lady friend doing in town, because you definitely don’t look like you’re from here.” Tony explained we were hired to work at The Pony. “Oh yea. I used to go across the bridge over there to get my lottery tickets. Then they started selling ‘em on the Missouri side here, so I don’t go over there no more. What’s your lady friend’s name?” Oh boy. Tony told him. “You mean like the car?” This is the where I looked at my watch praying that forty minutes was up. Finally, it was Tony’s turn. “Say, do I know you from somewhere?” the barber asked. Tony nonchalantly said, “No, I don’t thinks, so I just need a little off the sides.”  Ah, the adventures of doing maintenance while on the road.

The club was indeed across the bridge. As a matter of fact, you cross the bridge, you see the “Welcome to Illinois” sign and then you see the pink neon synonymous with every Pony club. The thing that stands out about this club was how nice the house girls were. You never know how they are going to take you due to the fact that it is their house, or what other things they have gone through with previous features, so each week is an enigma. These ladies could not have been more supportive as they sat front row every show and cheered. Part of their appeal was their fresh youthfulness, young women are so free with a smile, and they smiled a lot. They seem to live in the moment and it made them fun and uplifting to be around, that and they were so attractive. I anticipated every show because I could bring them on stage and do whatever I wanted. One dancer in particular named Keely had the best butt. It was so firm and perfectly round. It fit so well in my hand. I love my job sometimes.

The exploration of East Cape (Fear) Girardeau came to a close and we were in the bank the following day. As we walked I heard, “Hey folks, how are you doing today? Hey”, he pointed at Tony. “Do I know you from somewhere?” 

Next week we are off to make the far and expansive journey to…..Poplar Bluff, Missouri, which is about 91 miles from East Cape (Fear) Girardeau.  The plan is to go do some dancing, have some fun, and end the week at our final Pony club.

Los Angeles, California- Because of the response from the previous workshop, Actor and television and Internet host, James Bartholet will be conducting another acting workshop on Sunday, March 28th.

Geared toward adult performers who want to sharpen their acting chops, this new one day workshop will cover the basics of acting and improvisation, with on camera tapings of acting scenes.

Rumor is City Attorney harassment was part of the cause, can this possibly be? is the pressure on strip clubs across the country so great that it could lead to death? Read on…

Deluth, Minnesota-Deluth News Tribune- A man who fought City Hall and faced public criticism while operating a downtown Duluth strip club died Wednesday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said.

The body of Jim Gradishar, the 47-year-old operator of the NorShor Experience strip club, was discovered outside his truck shortly after 2 p.m. at the Island Lake boat landing near the dam.

“All indications of our investigation are that this is a suicide,’’ St. Louis County Sheriff Ross Litman said. “A note was left, but I don’t know the content of the note or what it alluded to.”

Eric Ringsred, Gradishar’s friend and business partner, blamed the media’s coverage of Gradishar’s legal problems and operation of the NorShor as part of the reason for his suicide.

“It was a lynching by proxy,” said Ringsred, who owns the NorShor Theatre. “He was a perfectly healthy guy for two … years. Then he started slowly going downhill.”

He also blamed harassment by the City Attorney’s office and the Police Department for the suicide.

“It was more than just the newspaper,” he said. “They’ve all got blood on their hands as far as I’m concerned. He was a decent man. He was as decent a man as you could find.”

Gradishar’s problems with the city date to running the Wabasha Book store. The city ordered him to temporarily close it in 2006 due to city code violations.

The business community and other members of the public greeted Gradishar’s move to turn the NorShor Theater into a strip club with dismay and opposition.

Gradishar also fought with the city administration and council over attempts to revoke the club’s liquor license, which the council approved last August but a judge overturned in October.

He also had other legal problems. He was charged in Cass County with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open bottle in a motor vehicle, transporting a firearm in a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct during a July incident. He pleaded guilty in St. Louis County District Court last year to carrying a firearm in a public place — his club — while under the influence of alcohol and received a probationary sentence.

Attorney Randall D.B. Tigue of Golden Valley, Minn., knew Gradishar for 18 years and represented him in several matters related to the NorShor and bookstores Gradishar operated in Minneapolis and Duluth. He called him a “terrific guy.” He understood that Gradishar’s business has been struggling lately.

“He’s been terribly depressed by everything the city did,’’ Tigue said. “I know he was under a lot of stress and has really been bothered a lot, but I really didn’t see this coming. It’s a tragedy.”

How would Tigue explain the avenue Gradishar chose to earn a living?

“There’s nothing to explain,’’ he said. “It’s an absolutely legitimate business. It’s legal and I think it’s beneficial to the community. It provides an entertainment form that people want. It provides a needed service to the community and all kinds of women have worked their way through college by dancing.”

Who was Jim Gradishar?

“He was a really good guy, bright, capable and he didn’t like getting pushed around,’’ Tigue said. “I think I’ll remember him as one who didn’t back away from a fight and whose cause was just.”

The NorSor Gentlemen’s Club opened for business as usual Wednesday night despite Gradishar’s death.

Sullivan “Sully” Kim manned the door of the establishment and said it was still too early to know what would become of the business.

“We really don’t know what’s going to happen yet,” Kim said, explaining that Gradishar’s business partners would meet in the next few days to discuss the NorShor’s next chapter.

“People are taking it hard,” Kim said. “Jim was a very likeable person.”

Despite a sense of shared grief, Kim, a janitor, said he felt it was important to show up for work Wednesday.

“We’ve all been together for a long time,” he said. “Everyone here is like family, and when you lose a family member you need to come together and console each other.”

In September, emergency crews responded to a call at Gradishar’s rural Duluth home after a 45-year-old house guest died there of natural causes. At the time, Gradishar told a reporter that Ronald Raymond Price had stayed with him about a month and a half before his death. “He was just a good friend,’’ Gradishar said. “Mostly he was hanging with me, getting his life back together.”

McGee, a mother of two, says she’s been sleeping with the Oscar winner’s hubby biker Jesse James – and that he said his marriage was “just for publicity.”

A friend of McGee’s told www.RadarOnline.com she knew of the 11-month affair.

“She told me that Jesse’s marriage to Sandra Bullock was for publicity, and that’s why he did Donald Trump’s show, Celebrity Apprentice. He never called on Sandra for money or influence because their marriage was a sham,” said Danielle Dee Madrano, owner of the adult web site SocalGlamourGirls.com.

McGee, who was raised Amish, was fired from the Hustler club about two years ago and now strips under the name Avery at a Pure Platinum Club in San Diego, RadarOnline.com reported.

She said she met James at his motorcycle shop in Long Beach, Calif., while Bullock was in Atlanta filming “The Blind Side.”

She went there for a late-night “photo shoot,” then James took her to his office, she said.

“We ended up on the couch,” she said. “He wanted to watch movies, but I asked him, ‘What’s going on with you and Sandra?’”

“‘She doesn’t live here. She has a house in Austin. She is filming, and I can’t talk about it,’” James reportedly told her.

They had sex “two or three times” in his office that night, she said, and have been sleeping together for nearly a year.

Spokesmen for James and Bullock did not return calls for comment.

This past Tuesday night I received a call from Roxanne Bliss, who is visiting from out of town, about attending Porn Star Karaoke at Sardos Grill & Lounge in Burbank. I hadn’t originally planned on going out after a long day at work but, as Roxanne is only in town for a short time, I agreed to pick her and her running mate Sal McKvey up to head to PSK.

As we walked up to Sardos, I spotted Goddess Soma Snakeoil and Sonya Sage outside. Soma used to co-host, “Ink Addicts” on RudeTV with Baadmaster. It was nice exchanging hellos and hugs with her after several months of not seeing each other. She looked great. Sonya Sage looked fantastic as well, in a tight form-fitting poke-a-dot dress.
Sonya has made quite an impression in her visits to PSK, knowing how to make the most out of her time there.

Just outside of Sardos, I met Mina Meow, a petite dark haired brunette with large lovely eyes. She had a warm smile the entire night.

I then made my way inside and saw that incredible Zoe Britton, hosting the festivities for the night as the special guest hostess. Our normal hostess, Nicki Hunter was in San Diego shooting for Naughty America so, Zoe stepped in and did a phenomenal job of covering for Nicki.

“Adam & Eve employees appreciate that it is possible for them to bring in their personal items for recycling.  If it has a battery or a cord, we take it,” says Reiley.

Utilizing local business Shimar Recycling, Adam & Eve employees now separate plastic, aluminum and glass for recycling, as well as office and mixed paper. In the past nine months alone, over 40,000 pounds of paper were recycled instead of going into a landfill.

“We are very proud of the efforts of our employees to be conscientious in their recycling efforts,” says Chad Davis, Marketing Director for Adam & Eve. “In addition to the steps we have taken to reduce waste and reuse items, we have also found interesting placement for items that would otherwise have ended up in the trash.”

These items include over 7,000 small glass jars that were used for packaging and later donated to local schools, craft groups, etc., and hundreds of pill-splitters that were donated to local veterinarians and animal rescue groups. All of the outdated and un-needed office supplies are donated to the Scrap Exchange, a non-profit organization in Durham.

Tampa, FL– Xbiz.com — Dirty D turned himself in just before midnight Tuesday night and is being held at Hillsborough County Jail, XBIZ has learned.

Dirty D’s bail has been set at $200,000.

Florida authorities are charging Dirty D with two counts of the promotion of a sexual performance of a child and two counts of the use of a child in a sexual performance. Each of the counts require a $50,000 bond for release.

Prosecutors, however, have declined to charge Dirty D with one count of illegal computer pornography, which refers to the streaming of underage content, that was originally listed on his arrest warrant.

Dirty D has tapped St. Petersburg, Fla., attorney A.J. Comparetto to represent him in the case. Comparetto was unavailable for comment on Wednesday.

Dirty D several weeks ago told XBIZ in an interview that the claims made by a woman who says she was underage at the time of a Tampa Bay porn shoot in August 2007 are false.

He made that statement after XBIZ contacted him in Barcelona, where he just finished attending the Barcelona Summit.

Dirty D said that the woman, who goes by the porn pseudonym Kelsey Cummings, among others, apparently used a fake ID for productions that involved a sea of men in a gloryhole shoot and a solo scene at a home.

Police already have charged two of Dirty D’s employees — Shawn Chastain and Ryan Jay Holtz — with two counts each of promoting a sexual performance by a child. Both have been released on $20,000 bail.

The woman, according to police reports, said Chastain, Holtz and Dirty D all were aware that she was under 18.

Dirty D denied the allegations by the woman, saying that her statements are “completely false and inflammatory.”

Dirty D operates GloryHoleGirlz.com, GhettoConfessions.com, RealOrgasmVideos.com, GangBangHood.com and AlmostFemale.com, and produces and distributes related DVDs. He also owns affiliate program HowIGotRich.com.

Police were tipped to the case when they received a mailed letter that included photos of the woman in the act of fellatio on the site GloryHolesGirlz.com.

Police served warrants and seized much of his Tampa Bay-based business operations and took cash, videos and 10 terabytes of data, Dirty D said.

WEST CHESTER- Source The Mercury Pottsville — Local entrepreneur Jill McDevitt, who caused a stir two years ago when she opened lingerie and novelty sex shop Feminique Boutique on North Church Street, has been denied a bid to expand her business into the King of Prussia Mall.

McDevitt said she met with a mall official Monday to discuss a lease. But she said the deal fell apart as soon as she explained that her store sells vibrators.

Afterward, McDevitt said she was puzzled by the decision because gift store Spencer’s leases space in the mall and also sells vibrators. And she said Victoria Secret and Frederick’s of Hollywood, both of which lease space in the mall, sell lingerie that is as risquéee as the lingerie sold in her store.

In a prepared statement, mall general manager Robert Hart said the shopping center has “the right to reject applications based on a variety of suitability issues, including what we believe is the best fit of merchants for the family-oriented customer base we’ve built up over a long history.”

McDevitt said she believes the mall, by leasing to Spencer’s but denying a lease to Feminique Boutique, is reinforcing a worldview that sees sex as shameful.

She said Spencer’s sells novelties that treat sexuality as a joke. The gag items Spencer’s sells, she said, demean female and male sexuality.

By contrast, Feminique Boutique aims to promote the view that sex is a celebration of life, McDevitt said, and her store seeks to help women understand themselves as “sexual subjects” rather than “sexual objects.”

McDevitt said she is starting an online petition to protest the mall’s rejection of her application. She said may also consider a lawsuit but has decided for the moment to limit herself to the petition.

(Hollywood, CA) It takes a monumental effort in the movie business for a sequel to be better than the original movie but apparently that’s the case with X-Play’s porn comedy Not the Cosbys XXX 2 which has been garnering impressive critical reviews and early sales than have topped the 2010 AVN Award winner Not the Cosbys XXX which went on to win a slew of trophies including best parody in Las Vegas.

“Some sequels aren’t worth making and even less worth watching.  That couldn’t be more untrue of this movie,” wrote Roger Pipe for www.rogreviews.com in his review of Not the Cosbys XXX 2.

“Any time you get sex this good in features it is a bonus.  To get it on top of a great script, a dead on parody and a funny movie it’s the recipe for a huge hit.  As they have done with the Bradys, Will Ryder and X-Play have made the Cosbys into a porn franchise that I can’t recommend strongly enough.”

“Not The Cosbys XXX 2 by director Will Ryder was an even more polished up effort than the original release from last year,” wrote Don Houston of XCritic.com in his recent movie review. 

“The sex flowed better and the writing upgraded so I felt that it earned the status of an Xcritic Pick that a great many people are going to want to see.  In short, Not The Cosbys XXX 2 was a winner from beginning to end, providing superior fuck for the buck, technical quality, casting, and all the other factors that enhance a porno, the hard work behind the scenes certainly making it all happen. Strong praise indeed for a movie and a porn franchise that many say has become the greatest interracial sex comedy series of all time but Will Ryder suspects one of the other reasons the sequel is flying off store shelves is the addition of some extra white meat sprinkled around the movie like salt at a pepper party.

“What many don’t realize is that we had white girls in the first movie and even a cute Asian but most still think of it as a black movie and not even an interracial movie but that is not true,” Ryder remarked. 

“Black is beautiful baby but we love women of all colors so we tossed in some more white ladies and a cute girl from Miami into this sequel and as you can see by the box cover Cliff is loving it,” Ryder joked.

Fans seem to agree as porn customers and fans of the original 1980s NBC Television series are picking up both volumes of Not the Cosbys XXX making this one of the most wholesome adult families ever rivaling Not the Bradys XXX.
