HALLANDALE BEACH — Cheetah, the city’s only strip club, can keep its doors open until 6 a.m. daily after winning the blessing of City Hall.
Mayor Joy Cooper was the only one on the commission to oppose the extended hours.
Closing time at Cheetah was already 6 a.m. on weekends, but now the full-nudity club can stay open until 6 a.m. every day.
Cheetah isn’t the only club in Hallandale that’s asked to stay open past regular closing time. Bars that want to stay open past 2 a.m. need special permission from the commission and have to pay a fee based on total occupancy.
Commissioner Alex Lewy said competing strip clubs in nearby cities stay open that late, so why not Cheetah?
