Tampa Déjà Vu Stripper Truck Goes To The Superbowl

Tampa, Florida- Travelling the country on a weekly basis, Showgirl Schevelle and I get to see many different types of marketing and public relations strategy. In the heart of Iowa, we got to see a true F.A.T. Girl Contest (meaning Fabulous And Thick, this contest awarded a cash prize of $500 to the winner). At Sturgis and Daytona everything was motorcycle orientated, in California, it’s all about the red carpet.

Last week in Tampa, Florida we got to see another great marketing idea. Although this is not a brand new idea, this is the first time we have seen it get this much public attetion. If you were on the streets of Tampa Bay, Florida last week, you might have seen the Déjà Vu clear-encasted mobile viewing box. The truck with the clear box on the back contained three clear plexi-glass walls, a stripper pole and a few beautiful bikini clad Déjà Vu dancers, simply to hold on to the pole and wave at people as they went by. So the Tampa Bay locals, including some of the news agencies took the Déjà Vu truck story and told of this horrible business being so offensive. A couple of interviews were even conducted on the street with supposedly disgusted citizens.

Our question is, are these same people disgusted when they go to the beach? Do they go on campaign rages against chicken wing restaurants? Do they hate gymnastics? Is women’s volleyball vile and offensive? Well, all of the above are places where women wear similar apparel.
Why are booty shorts in my gym okay, but at my club illegal or offensive? Is this true public perception or are people being made to think this way?

We first saw the “stripper truck” when we were at the AVN/AEE in Las Vegas. It was on display and all of the news media there covered it. The new social website StipperForMe used it for publicity. The last time we saw the “Stripper Truck” they were waving goodbye on their way to Miami, Florida for the Superbowl. We are sure it scored well.

I have some inside information that leads me to believe this is not the last story that we will do on the “Stripper Truck”, since we love a good marketing and promotional stunt just as much as they do.

Stay in tuned for more. Check back tomorrow on the same Bat Station…..or else.
