Van Stone Last Show Ever At The Roxy On Sunset

Frontman Randy Van Stone Burns Out and Fades Away

Infamous shock-rockers Van Stone will perform their final show on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at The Roxy Theatre on Sunset in Hollywood.

Van Stone, “Palmdale’s #3 rock band,”  has garnered a cult of notoriety for their obscene metalcore crust-punk, outrageous theatrical live shows, and hardcore  fans who are, themselves, aficionados of the profane.

Van Stone’s scandalous stage antics have disgusted audiences around the world, prompting numerous cancellations of their appearances on summer festivals like The Warped Tour and Bamboozle. However, relentless touring with heavyweights Turbonegro, Body Count and Twisted Sister have also earned the band an international fanbase calling themselves “Van Stoniacs,”

Unfortunately, after years of pushing the boundaries of taste, decorum and physical comfort, lead singer and provocateur Randy Van Stone has decided to quit the rock-and-roll business, under the advice of medical professionals. “I’ve quit the band like thirty times,” the frontman said, “But this time, it’s for real. Doctor’s orders. Over the years, I’ve sustained a lot of injuries bringing the rock-and-roll thunder. I like to give 110% every time out, but I’m only able to do like 105% now. Time to hang up the leather codpiece and call it a day.”

The future of the band itself is still questionable. Rhythm guitarist Stevie Peavey plans to audition new lead singers throughout the show whenever Randy Van Stone has a costume change. “We’ll be doing it Idol-style. The audience will be able to text me who they want to replace Randy in our new incarnation.”

Van Stone’s last hurrah will feature a stellar line-up of acts including San Francisco’s Arnocorps, local upstarts Feast of Fetus, and legendary punk rock band, The Mentors, infamous as PMRC/Tipper Gore whipping boys and the purveyors of “rape-rock.”

Tickets are $13, available through the Roxy Theatre Box Office or Ticketmaster.com. All ages. Doors open at 8:30pm.
