When you say “bikini bar” where I am from in Valdosta, GA the worst possible images come to mind.  Our local bikini bars were the closest you could get to a strip club outside of www.daisyduxeentertainmet.com.  Discussing a local Valdosta bikini bar often sounded more like a strip-club horror film. But one step into Big Foot Lounge in Rockford, IL  and my thoughts of a bikini bar quickly turned to more of a strip club like Willie Wonka’s candyland. All were entertainers who had a peak in their careers before a steady decline. It gives birth to the following thoughts….Did they take time to enjoy the memories on their rise to fame or did they constantly work so hard to get there that they missed the very scenic ride to the top. Much like riding a roller coaster…an amusement park displays cool images on the ride up. When you reach the top of a roller coaster there is a short pause at the top just long enough for you to realize “holy crap”, I’m at the the top. Did these memorable have that scary yet joyous “holy crap” moment when they reached the top. For me coming down a roller coaster drop starts with my arms up confident that I can enjoy the dive feeling free and weightless, but I quickly grab the rail trying to not lose control or dignity(throwing up tosses all dignity off the ride completely). Some entertainers get so caught up in enjoying the ride that they throw their arms up on the ride down from the top feeling invincible and by the time the ride is over they contain no fragment of what they were when they bought the ticket for the ride.

A normal person seeking adventure and thrills on what they thought was a harmless ride. No matter if you’re getting a ticket for the small, slow & steady kiddie coaster or the monsterous coaster that reaches heights like you’ve never seen…look around on the way up, enjoy the beautiful views you would have never seen if you’d never bought a ticket to start with.  Once you pause at the top, take a breath…realize that you are higher than you’ve ever been and enjoy it.

Take pictures, flash people, wave to people, encourage them to buy a ticket, direct them to the ticket counter, and let them know you’ll be waiting for them on the other side.  And finally on the way down, hold on! Remember you want to be recognizable at the end of the ride so your friends will know who you are!

I am craving just one really good nights sleep. If I could just fall asleep easily and sleep more than 4hrs straight, I would be so happy! I refuse to take sleeping pills. With all the shit that I had put my body through over the years - back in the days of partying my ass off, I’m too scared to take anything that isnt herbal. And no, weed does not help me sleep! lol. Juneau Wisconsin was definately an experience. The club itself was beautiful, you didnt feel like you were in the middle of nowhere when you walk into that club. The girls were hot, and most of them were actually friendly towards me. Thats all i’m going to say.

I was shocked to hear about Michael Jacksons death. Very sad, he was such a genius, there will never be anyone like him. I dont believe he was a pedophile, just a man who never had a real childhood, and wanted to re-live that, living in a fantasy world.

Moving on,  I just came back from shooting a very interesting reality type show - which is also going to be a porn flick, but hopefully they’ll sell the reality part to MTV or something. I can’t talk about it though, sorry! We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with it.

Aside from that, i’m just busy trying to get things back in order in my office and around the house. Not to mention the final edits of my book, in which the deadline is next week. Always so much work to catch up on when you get back in town. And being tired all the time, doesn’t help achieve much! But I’m pushing myself anyway. I wont let this insomnia hold me back!

Birmingham, UK- July 5th and 6th will see many of the adult industry’s leading suppliers setting up shop in the Pavilion at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, for the UK’s only dedicated trade event, the ETO Show.

Now in its fifth year, the ETO Show brings together just about every major adult goods distributor, together with a wide variety of specialist and overseas suppliers, under one roof.

Just about every product category imaginable will be represented at the show, from erotic books to electro stimulation kits – from the mildly shocking to the literally shocking, you could say - and anyone looking for new or alternative suppliers for adult goods will not get another opportunity this year, without leaving these shores, to see so many in one place at one time. And while most exhibitors are from the UK, there will be a number of overseas suppliers offering unique lines, many of them choosing the ETO Show to make their only visit to the UK this year.

Hello again! Thanks for joining me as I chronicle my trip as a first time Entertainer of the Year Nominee and all the craziness that I seem to attract in this wonderful world of featuring. The nominations are announced and the fun begins! 

As you may or may not know…in addition to my solo gig as a showgirl…I also perform with Gia Nova in our duo act BLONDELICIOUS. Not only is it fun to travel the country with this super hot blonde chic…she’s also my best friend so we seem to get ourselves into the most peculiar situations.  I am honored to say that my sexy, sweet, best friend has been nominated as CLUB OWNER FAVORITE. So…the day after the nominations were announced; Gia arrives in the traveling van and we are ready to take off like the blonde, busty, gypsy’s that we are for our show at ERVS LADIES AND GENTLEMANS CLUB in Allentown, PA. We love this club and had a blast the 3 days we were there. We were able to do some shopping  for our costumes, practiced our show , and designed our new business cards…that was just day 1.  Which brings me to the Bibles….yes bibles! After our show on Saturday night…we are tired, hungry, and not looking forward to the drive home in the morning; so we go to the local diner to refuel and talk about some show ideas.  Its 2am…we just finished performing so we were in full makeup but after 3 high energy ,sweaty shows…we were not trying to look sexy or cute.  We had eaten there every day and the manager and waitress had become fans.  On our last night they asked for some promo pictures and we were more than happy to snap off some shots and sign a few 8×10’s. (They gave us free cake…I’m a cake whore so you offer me cake or chocolate and I’m yours.)

 As we are standing at the register saying our goodbyes we hear this creepy voice behind us proclaiming “You are sinners! You must repent! You are going to hell!!!” WTF?…Gia and I look at each other and slowly turn around to see a couple dressed in full church attire, drunk as cooterballs, &  holding their bibles as if to ward off the evil permeating from our bodies. Remember it’s 2am …so I assume they had one of those all night get togethers where a lot of alcohol was presumably consumed. Now other than a little cleavage, we looked pretty normal. But they were outraged that we “strippers” and “evoking lust from men”…I felt obliged to tell them that from the makeout session I had with the hot Italian chic the day before…I’m pretty sure I evoked  lust from women too. We did our best to ignore them but as we were trying to leave; they followed us out.  Now… in a normal religious zealot harassment situation we would have just waited in the diner until they left; but I knew this was gonna be good…so out to the van we go… the man is waving his bible at me and saying how I will rot in hell for performing sexual acts with another woman! (Damn…was he peeping in our windows too?) I look and don’t see Gia…oh boy.

..Now…if any of you have seen one of her shows then you know of her famous “grinder” act. She wears a metal plated bra and uses a power tool to create these bad ass sparks. Well… all of a sudden Gia appears from the side of the van in all her smiling, calm, blonde splendor, brandishing her grinder which is on full force….I’m not sure if there were any words exchanged; but the bible crazies took off…and because of all the excitement…we went back in the diner for more cake.

1) How long have you been in the industry? How did you get started? Have you had fun in the industry?
I have been involved in The Adult Entertainment Industry since the fall of 1971. I began as a writer and evolved in a multi-faceted participant ranging from actor (approx. 400 hardcore scenes in over 250 productions) to agent to activist as well as a scriptwriter and director plus creative coordinator and publicity manager for a number of companies and organizations. My response to the word “Fun” is “my whole career has been a vacation.” I am currently considered to be the X-Rated Industry’s Historian, but since I performed as well as took notes, I prefer to be called “The Practorian.” I have a monthly series in SWANK called “Those Were The Lays.” And I write a weekly column (Cinema Seen) wherein I review mainstream films but also manage to tell my life story at the same time for THE LAXPRESS, an alternative publication based in Hollywood, California.

2) Are you concerned with the rights of the adult industry to make and produce movies/web clips?

I have never been a believer in “rights” but rather I consider being in the Adult Industry “a privilege”…and it must not be taken for granted and must be fought for 25 hours a day. I have never hidden behind The First Amendment or wrapped myself in The American Flag.

3) Could you talk about what it is actually like on a set, as far as having ID, signing model releases, having an AIM test, etc? Have you seen or heard of anyone in the legitimate adult industry knowingly using minors in films or the web?

I think that people who blather around the word “pornography” are as clueless as they are uncool. I am proud to be part of The Adult Entertainment Industry and I stress the word “adult.” In fact I’d like to raise the age of entrance in X to 21 years old for all performers, thus eliminating even the slightest concept of “kiddie porn.”

4) Do you ever get offended by shows like South Park or Family Guy? What do you think about shows/writing that offends people?

It takes an awful lot to offend me. My favorite show on TV is “The Simpsons.”

5) What do you think about some of the stuff that pushes the limit in the adult industry, stuff like Max Hardcore, Kink.com, JM Productions?

The odds finally caught up with Max Hardcore and apparently with Rob Black and perhaps one day with the likes of JM Productions. They were and are mean-spirited tragedies waiting to happen as they defy the sensibilities of society and shatter the souls of those whom they subject to scenes that promote misery and degradation way beyond anything remotely associated with entertainment…or erotica. Back before the making of Explicit Adult Materials became legal in California (1988)…I unlocked quite a few zippers of the mind, but once we were Hal Freeman won his case…I figured that it was time to practice a little “common-sense-sorship.”

6) Have you ever been asked to do a scene or something on film that you thought was crazy and wondered if it was offensive/legal? What was it? Did you do the scene or the act anyway?

I have never been involved in any production where a performer got hurt or was subjected to anything that she (or he) didn’t fully consent to.

7) Why do you think America has such a fascination with sex and with regulating sex?

America’s fascination with sex stems from it still thinking that it is “naughty.” Many years ago, I said “If you cut a tit off you get an R-rating. If you kiss a tit you’ll get an X.”

A lot of people in the industry have told me that most the people in the industry don’t care about protecting free speech, or really about anyone other than themselves and their money. Do you think this is true?
Do you think a lot of the people that are new to the industry care or have any concern about free speech and protecting the right to make movies?

Most people in X babble a good game about Free Speech while hoping that all of their competitors go out of business. My stance is “there’s no dollar sign in the word cause.” I believe that The Adult Entertainment Industry provides a masturbatory catharsis for the masses and to that extent I’ve never seen an adult production jump down from the shelf, run down the street and drag somebody home and force them to watch it. We provide a keyhole and the viewer willingly drops down to take a look, Remember…”In a society that is drug-infested, violence wracked and polluted by chemical greed…no one has ever died from an overdose of Pornography.”

9) What is the craziest thing you have done/or scene you’ve been in on camera?

I am notorious from creating eccentric scenes such as working with a couple of cooked chickens in 1981’s “Intimate Lessons” or inventing “The Margold Shot” (consuming my own ejaculation off of a co-star) back in 1979. My favorite role is that of Harry Baulls in “The Disco Dolls in Hot Skin”…a 3-D Xer that has been playing the midnight circuit since 1978.

Beyond anything that I have ever created…my greatest image is that of the ladies raising the American flag which I conceptualized in 1991 for the Adult Video Association (which became The Free Speech Coalition a few years later).

10) Have you been involved with trying to change people’s opinions about the industry?

I have no intention of resting on laurels as that would only result in getting thorns in my ass. I would like very much to continue to live up to one of my mottos: “There is no future if in the present we fail to pay homage to the past.”
